I've spent a lot of this past week fighting with various laser printers. ) However, after some trial and error, I figured out a way to convert a greyscale image into something the black and white laser printer could handle.

Go to the "Image" menu and select mode > bitmap. If the image isn't already flat, say "ok" when photoshop offers to do it for you.

In the dialog box that pops up, set the output at 1200 pixels/inch, and set the method to "Halftone Screen."

At the next dialog box, set the frequency to 100 lines/inch, the angle to 45 degrees, and the shape to "round."

You now have a halftoned bitmap file that will print beautifully on a black and white laser printer.
